Garry Beaumont

I have been a Mancunian Boxer Club committee member since 1997. I first registered our affix Beauimres in 1993 – the name is formed by combining my surname with that of my wife’s maiden name (Imre) – although we have had some success at champ show level most of our success has been  on the Open Show circuit. We first qualified a dog for Crufts in 2001 with Beauimres Itza Nysa Place but declined to enter because out daughter was due on the day of the show, as it happened Crufts was moved to May that year and we could have made it had we entered originally. Our showing activities have been comparatively quiet recently as we have concentrated on raising a young family but we look forward to getting back on the show scene in the near future.

Although I have grown up with Boxers, my interest in showing first began in 1977 when we were fortunate enough to acquire Gremlin Wild Oats from Marian Fairbrother. He was later joined by others including a ‘Grouse’ daughter, Chellowside Double Classic. The affix ‘Sheiken’ was originally registered by my Mum (my parents names being Sheila and Ken) and I re-registered the affix with the Kennel Club in 2002 in my own name. Working shifts for North Wales Police as a supervisor in their force control-room curtails my showing activities to some degree, but I try to get to as many shows as I can! I have been a committee member of the Mancunian Boxer Club since 2001.

Patron

Lily Potts

A well respected judge of international renown, Lily was a member of the Mancunian Committee for many years and in conjunction with her late husband successfully campaigned her Janetiken Boxers many years before that. For devoted service she was made a Life Member of the Mancunian Boxer Club in 1991 and now serves, with distinction, as our Patron.

Maureen Wragg

(President)

Half a dozen boxers have cluttered our kitchen for over 50 years, the first a runt of Stainburndorf / Panfield lineage given to my mother by her then employer. I had not seen a boxer before that and have not wanted any other breed since. I enjoy showing, although full time teaching and raising a family meant this was limited until I retired 20 years ago.

I have attended the ABC in the USA twice and Atibox 10 times believing that we must share our knowledge with the Continent and ‘across the pond’.

I thoroughly enjoy judging, especially the Boxer Club Championship Shows.

I have served on the ‘Mancunian’ committee for 35 years and am currently presiding over a dedicated hard working team
